About

Hello friend, I greet you as friend because when you finished reading this hopefully, you’ll feel as though we just had smoothies at my kitchen table. Since we are going to be good friends, call me Quaya (kw-A-ya). I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a friend. My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and we have three wonderful children. I can’t really consider myself a health nut or guru, but one day I may. I have been intrigued with the health benefits of juicing for as long as I can remember. Watching infomercials for the Jack LaLeane Juicer, as a preteen, inspired many of my ideas about food. So much so that I stopped eating meat for a period of about 6 years, (but that’s an entire article in it self). Although healthy eating was my focus I grew up without a working knowledge of it in my personal life. For years I struggled and in some ways I’m still struggling with my personal image. I am blessed to have an hour glass figure, but it’s usually masked under an average of a 50 extra pounds or so. It wasn’t until a few months ago when I decided to change my point of view. I am determined to no longer judge my health and weight loss success by the number on the scale or the reflection in the mirror. True beauty and optimal health comes from the inside, the outside is just a reflection of it. As a mother of three and co-homeschooling parent of eight it’s not easy making time to pamper myself. I have although taken some steps in the direction of establishing some healthy habits. About three years ago I’ve purchased a Vitamix Blender and started collecting whole and raw food recipe books. Now I believe that the Vitamix Blender is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It’s a juicer, blender, and food processor all in one. This single machine is capable of doing almost anything from chopping ice to making hot soup. For awhile I was convinced I needed a separate machine for juicing and food processing in order to embark on a raw and whole food lifestyle. I was limiting myself to using my Vitamix only for smoothies and frozen treats. As part of this changed mind frame, no longer will I continue to short-change this amazing machine. I will be healthy from the inside out. I’m starting a journey now and there is no time for crying over split milk, I’m less than a year away from the big 3-0. I will be experimenting juicing with my Vitamix Blender. I’m excited to share this journey with you. Who knows I might just inspire you to join me. I’ll call it my, “Healthier Me Journey”! I know it won’t be easy and I’m not looking forward to it being easy. I can truly say that from experience, the harder you have to work on a goal the more you appreciate the progress and ending results. ‘One day at a time’ is the motto I live by.
